My internet was down for a couple of days. I was amazed at how much productive work I got done.
The internet is a great tool but it also creates a lot of noise and distraction. I don’t know about you but the easiest way I find to deal with it is to disconnect – or else there is always another page/email/post/comment/tweet/status update to look at.
One of Tim Ferris’ classic distraction minimising techniques is to stop his email receiving automatically and to only check it once a day. This works for me (but I check it more often).
